For long-lasting enjoyment of your wood, the vegetable oil-based wood preservative stain from Wilckens is the optimal solution. It is reinforced with polyurethane for best weather protection. The stain is easy to apply and is suitable for a decorative coat to accentuate the wood grain, yet it still has weather-resistant properties such as weather, light and UV resistance, making it suitable for outdoor use, for wooden houses, roof boarding, carports or pergolas. After one coat, you create a long-lasting, water-repellent and UV-resistant weather protection with the deep-penetrating stain. It is also suitable for glazing wooden ceilings and wooden wall panelling indoors, as it is odourless. In addition, the long-lasting glaze is open-pored, moisture-regulating, low in solvents, as well as breathable.
First make sure that the substrate is clean, grease-free and dry. Wash off resinous and sticky-greasy wood surfaces with thinner beforehand and completely remove flaking and unsound old coats. The wood moisture content should not exceed 15%. The application temperature must not fall below +5°C during application and drying (air and substrate). When using several containers, ensure that the same batch is used. Stir the stain well before starting work. The stain can be applied directly to the wood with a brush, roller or tassel. Two thin coats are recommended. Clean the tools with water immediately after use. After approx. five hours the stain is dust-dry and after approx. 48 hours it is completely dry (at +20°C, 65% rel. humidity). Lower temperatures and higher humidity extend the drying time.
